Blurry

This series explores sensory ambiguity and emotional conflict through four recurring states associated with CPTSD: fear, anger, helplessness, and shame. Rather than presenting these emotions as separate experiences, the paintings allow them to overlap, interrupt, and dissolve into one another, using blurred forms, layered colors, erasure, and repeated gestures to evoke a state in which memory, bodily sensation, and present experience become difficult to distinguish.

Pink, turquoise, white, and deep blue do not represent fixed emotions, but continually cover, expose, and disrupt one another across the surface. Forms occasionally suggest the presence of a body or a space before disappearing again, creating a visual experience of recognition followed by uncertainty, and reflecting how trauma can blur the boundaries between emotion, memory, and reality.
