Trace is a social-practice project created in Washington Square Park. I invited women I had never met to draw on my dress or write what they carry as women. As the garment gathered marks about safety, body image, motherhood, expectation, fear, exhaustion, strength and hope, a private object became a collective emotional archive. Participants could write, draw or simply observe, allowing brief and voluntary encounters to reveal how women affect, understand and shape one another.
